HELPLINE Answer-machine in operation after office hours and weekends. All calls will be returned as soon as possible in office hours. As bove. Face to Face – Geographical boundaries and Criteria apply for our direct work with children and families: Only available in our regions of Gloucestershire/Greater Manchester/East and West Sussex. PLEASE, IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, RING THE FREEFONE HELPLINE TO DISCUSS HOW WE MAY BE ABLE TO SUPPORT YOU. We can advise and support over the Helpline for just about every situation pre or post-bereavement and advise if we can help in any other way. At Winston’s Wish we provide telephone support for bereaved children and young people up to the age of 18. We also support their parents or carers. Professionals may also ring in for support and discussion on how best to work with families in a particular situation, from anywhere in the UK. Whether the person was ill for some time or a death totally unexpected. We can work with children and families bereaved through illness, accident, suicide, murder or manslaughter. Also military death. Where appropriate, and if children live in our geographical boundaries, we work closely with children and families, in a variety of practical and creative ways, to create an atmosphere where they can share their thoughts and feelings and meet others. Where distance may prevents us offering a face-to-face service we typically can still provide telephone support via our Helpline, and send useful information. Our website offers free publications and books for families please contact for further information. There is also Training and consultancy for professionals and teachers.
